Colby Community College is accepting applications for a Head Rodeo Coach. The successful candidate will be tasked with recruiting, coaching, and mentoring students to develop and promote the Colby Community College Rodeo program. The Head Rodeo Coach position is a 12-month, non-faculty, non-instructional position. The position is anticipated to be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work/travel is required for practice and contests, both in and out of the state of Kansas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Recruit and attract students to the rodeo program.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong knowledge of, and experience with, rodeos.
Motivate, inspire, and mentor rodeo team members to compete at the national level.
Travel with students for practices and competitions, both in-state and out-of-state.
Oversee the care and management of practice livestock and rodeo facilities.
Assist with operations at the Colby Community College Farm.
Coordinate and host the Colby Community College Rodeo.
Encourage and support student involvement in community volunteer activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience working in and competing with rodeos required.
Previous coaching experience preferred.
SALARY $43,200-$54,150 per year, contingent upon experience and education level.
