AllSearch Recruiting is seeking a Head Scheduler (internally titled Head Dispatcher/Scheduler) for our client in Upper Marlboro, MD to orchestrate the safe, efficient deployment of its growing fleet (cranes, heavy-haul trucks, tower crane erection/dismantling rigs) across data centers, power generation, HVAC/electrical, bridge construction, precast/steel erection, and commercial projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Responsibilities:
Schedule cranes (up to 770 tons), hydraulic trucks, lowboys, tower crane erection/dismantling crews, and specialized rigging teams to guarantee on-time project execution for high-profile data centers, power plants, bridge builds, and commercial developments.
Directly oversee crane operators, oilers, CDL truck drivers, and signalpersons; enforce rigorous safety protocols and NCCCO certification standards.
Update NexGen software with job-specific details—lift plans, permit requirements, freight logistics, and daily rigging schedules—ensuring zero downtime across the fleet.
Partner with sales, shop, yard, and safety teams to align equipment prep, maintenance windows, and manpower with customer timelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers, confirming schedules, relaying ETAs, and providing creative solutions to last-minute scope changes.
Assign cranes, trucks, and certified personnel based on load charts, site constraints, and availability; proactively reroute assets to minimize travel and maximize billable hours.
Direct yard traffic, monitor GPS tracking, and coordinate heavy-haul permits/overweight routing for seamless job-site access.
Collaborate with the Director of Safety on incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and implementation of site-specific rigging plans in compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and zero-incident goal.
Process freight invoices, distribute operator paychecks, manage two-way radio systems, and maintain digital lift documentation
Qualifications:
5+ years of construction dispatching/scheduling experience, preferably in crane rental, heavy civil, or industrial rigging.
Proficiency in NexGen dispatching software (required for real-time fleet tracking & billing).
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, weather-dependent environment.
Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills—must instill confidence in clients and crews alike.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel for load/route planning, Outlook for calendar sync).
Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. + routinely, climb crane ladders, and access large equipment for inspections.
Proven ability to remain calm and decisive during emergency rerouting or equipment breakdowns.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Compensation:
Base salary in the 125k - 135k/year range
MDV – 100% paid for by company | 50% for dependents
Bonus opportunity (paid out bi-annually and prorated for first year)
