  • Responsibilities

    Direct and supervise the educational operations of the classroom. Develop a working knowledge of: • ODE Early Learning Development Standards • Head Start Performance Standards and Domains • Step Up to Quality requirements • Agency curriculum, policies, and procedures Provide support and guidance to center staff in: • Building and maintaining partnerships with families • Using intentional teaching strategies • Facilitating meaningful activities and interactions with children Positions Available: Full-Year Full-Time Part-year Full-Time (August-May) Locations: Fairborn, Ohio - Xenia, Ohio - Troy, Ohio Responsibilities: • Carry forth the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the agency and adhere to all agency policies and procedures • Implement and maintain classroom operation in accordance with CORS, ODJFS licensing, Step Up to Quality, federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures • Ensure the safety of all children by providing active supervision of the children at all times and a safe, sanitary, organized learning environment. • Be knowledgeable of the agency-selected curriculum and social-emotional approach, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, and ODE Early Learning Development Standards • As a classroom team with the Teachers, develop and implement weekly lesson plans utilizing the agency-selected curriculum that include activities and experiences that support all developmental domains, school readiness, and highlight the needs and interests of the children • Ensure the completion of developmental screenings of all children in compliance with time frames • Observe and document children’s developmental progress utilizing the agency-selected ongoing assessment tools • Supervise, train, and mentor direct reports. Complete annual evaluations and goals of direct reports • Collaborate with the classroom team in developing at-home in-kind activities for each child through the agency-selected digital in-kind system • Completion of CACFP Meal Counts at the point of service during each meal daily • Serve as administrator under ODJFS licensing laws , where applicable • Supervise Teachers and, when applicable, the Cook/Cook Assistant and Driver Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) and one year of experience; or • Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 6 ECE courses and one year of experience; or • Associate’s degree in ECE and two years of experience Compensation: $23.65 - $27.74 hourly
