** About SOLFL**
SOLFL is a new movement in conscious education dedicated to cultivating intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. Our first school, SOLFL עץ חיים, a K-12 Miami Torah Earth School, offers a rigorous, mutli-disiplinary curriculum that integrates hands-on, experiential learning with entrepreneurship, ecology, creative expressions and spiritual practice. Our goal is to move children away from traditional classrooms, desks and screens, into the real world. This is an irl (in real life) school aimed at cultivating the impact entrepreneurs of the future.
About the Role
The Head of High School will serve as the educational and cultural leader of the high school division, guiding students, faculty, families, and the broader community in bringing the school’s mission to life.
This role requires an exceptional educator and systems thinker who can bridge visionary leadership with practical execution. The ideal candidate deeply understands adolescent development, progressive education, experiential learning, project-based learning and conscious leadership practices, while also possessing the organizational capacity to build sustainable programs, strong culture, and operational excellence.
The Head of High School will play a critical role in designing curriculum pathways, hiring and mentoring faculty, developing partnerships, creating student experiences, and helping define the future of education itself.
Core Responsibilities
** Educational Leadership**
- Lead the design and implementation of an innovative, interdisciplinary high school program rooted in experiential and project-based learning.
- Ensure academic rigor while integrating project-based learning, entrepreneurship, ecology, creative arts, emotional intelligence, spiritual development, and real-world application.
- Develop learning models that move beyond conventional classrooms into immersive, community-based, and field-based experiences.
- Cultivate a culture of curiosity, purpose, integrity, creativity, and self-direction.
** Student Development & Culture**
- Foster a deeply supportive and transformative environment for adolescent growth.
- Support students in developing leadership, emotional intelligence, resilience, collaboration, and purpose.
- Build structures for mentorship, advisory, conflict resolution, and community accountability.
- Help students connect their gifts and passions to meaningful real-world impact.
** Faculty Leadership**
- Recruit, mentor, and develop mission-aligned educators, guides, and mentors.
- Support faculty in implementing experiential, interdisciplinary, and student-centered learning practices.
- Lead professional development grounded in conscious education, developmental psychology, facilitation, and relational leadership.
- Create a collaborative culture of reflection, innovation, and continuous improvement.
** Program Development**
- Help architect the evolving vision of the high school as a living, adaptive educational ecosystem.
- Build partnerships with entrepreneurs, artists, ecological organizations, wellness practitioners, and community leaders.
- Design real-world learning opportunities including internships, apprenticeships, entrepreneurial incubators, retreats, expeditions, and community projects.
- Promote an environment in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects.
- Design and facilitate curriculum where students learn from real-world entrepreneurial ventures.
- Collaborate on systems for scheduling, operations, student journeys, and campus experience.
** Family & Community Engagement**
- Serve as a trusted and inspiring communicator with families and community stakeholders.
- Help parents understand and engage with the school’s philosophy and developmental approach.
- Represent the school publicly and contribute to thought leadership in the future of education.
Qualifications
** Required**
- Significant leadership experience in secondary education, progressive education, experiential learning, or innovative school models.
- Expertise in PBL (Project -based learning)
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and student-centered learning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complexity, and build healthy organizational culture.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Alignment with the school’s mission and values around conscious education, human development, and transformational learning.
- Passion for entrepreneurial environmental or societal impact.
- A passion and knowledge of impact entrepreneurship with the ability to travel during entrepreneurial immersions.
** Preferred**
- Experience launching or scaling innovative educational programs or schools.
- Background in entrepreneurship, ecology, design thinking, systems thinking, wellness, coaching, or contemplative practice.
- Familiarity with competency-based education, portfolio assessment, and project-based learning models.
- Experience integrating emotional and spiritual development into educational settings.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in education, leadership, psychology, or a related field.
