Build the Technology Backbone of a Modern Dialysis Organization

We are seeking a hands-on Head of IT to lead all technology, information security, infrastructure, and data functions for our growing multi-market dialysis startup.
This is not a purely strategic oversight role. We are looking for a strong operator—someone who builds, implements, troubleshoots, vets vendors, manages compliance, and executes quickly in a fast-moving environment.
About the Role
This senior leadership role will oversee:
Distributed healthcare IT infrastructure across multiple markets and regions
HIPAA-compliant information security and risk management
EMR/EHR systems and healthcare technology integrations
Vendor selection, contract negotiation, and SLA oversight
Data reporting and analytics tools to support operations and finance
Cloud services, VoIP, networking, endpoint security, and device management
Standardization of IT systems across expanding markets and operational sites
You will work closely with executive leadership, clinical operations, and finance to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions that support a distributed and field-based workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the IT roadmap aligned with clinical and operational goals
Lead infrastructure deployments across regional markets and operational locations
Ensure HIPAA compliance, cybersecurity controls, and proactive risk mitigation
Manage EMR/EHR platforms and healthcare system integrations
Oversee vendor performance, contracts, renewals, and implementations
Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support KPIs and revenue cycle management
Standardize infrastructure to allow efficient multi-market growth
Present technology updates, risk assessments, and infrastructure strategy to executive leadership and key stakeholders
Required Qualifications
7+ years of senior IT leadership experience at the Director level or above
Healthcare IT experience required; dialysis or multi-site healthcare preferred
Demonstrated experience operating in startup or high-growth environments, with the ability to build from scratch and operate under ambiguity.
Experience leading technology deployment across distributed healthcare operations, including remote teams and field-based clinical staff
Proven track record managing healthcare InfoSec, including HIPAA compliance and risk mitigation
Strong familiarity with clinical systems, RCM platforms, EHR integrations, and healthcare data workflows
Excellent vendor-management ability; capable of quickly evaluating solutions, negotiating contracts, driving implementation, and manage service-level agreements (SLAs)
Hands-on experience with business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), including working knowledge of SQL and enterprise data architecture
Periodic travel to company markets and regions as needed, including occasional in-person meetings with leadership team

Experience scaling healthcare operations across multiple states
Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS)
Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, or similar)
