This role requires deep experience in wood manufacturing and CNC-driven production environments.
We are seeking a hands-on Vice President of Operations who understands how wood moves through a plant — from raw material to finished product — and knows how to scale throughput without losing quality or margin.
About the Role
You will lead all manufacturing operations across production, CNC machining, planning, quality, logistics, and maintenance.
This is not a corporate oversight position. We are looking for an operator who has led wood-based manufacturing environments, understands CNC workflows, and can drive performance directly on the shop floor.
You will own operational execution, plant performance, and cultural discipline across facilities.
What You’ll Own
• Full operational leadership of wood and CNC-based production environments
• Throughput, efficiency, and margin improvement across all plants
• KPI development and operational scorecards tied to real performance metrics
• CNC capacity planning, workflow optimization, and equipment utilization
• Lean process improvements across panel processing, machining, assembly, and finishing
• Maintenance strategy to maximize uptime on CNC and production equipment
• Budget ownership and cost control initiatives
• Building a disciplined, accountable plant leadership team
Must-Haves
• Executive-level operations leadership within wood manufacturing, cabinetry, millwork, furniture, or similar environments
• Direct experience overseeing CNC-driven production (panel processing, nesting, machining workflows)
• Proven track record improving throughput, reducing waste, and increasing plant efficiency
• Experience leading multi-department or multi-facility manufacturing operations
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience scaling a manufacturing company through significant growth
• Lean, Six Sigma, or structured continuous improvement leadership
• Strong operational P&L management
• Background in engineered wood products or building materials
What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
• Assess CNC utilization, plant bottlenecks, and workflow inefficiencies
• Establish clear KPIs across production, quality, and cost
• Build credibility with plant leadership and production teams
First 6 Months
• Increase throughput and reduce production inefficiencies
• Improve equipment uptime and labor productivity
• Strengthen leadership accountability across departments
• Deliver measurable improvements in margin and plant performance
