  • Responsibilities

    Summary: The Head of Product is a travel professional with 10 years’ experience (or more), leading the strategy, development, and operations of a global tour portfolio. This role owns the full product lifecycle from concept to contract, pricing, launch, training, and operational execution. It requires a blend of strategic planning, hands-on product development, supplier negotiation, site visits, trade show attendance, and deep operation ownership. The Head of Product leads a team of 10 Product Managers and must work in the office with the team, 2 days of the week.

     

    What you will do:

    • Leadership & Organizational Management
    • Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team in strategic decision-making and cross-departmental initiatives
    • Act as primary product reference point for Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams.
    • Establish clear goals, KPIs, processes and standards for Product Managers and Product Operations.
    • Product Development
    • Oversee and guide development of 5 to 15 new programs annually
    • Collaborate with Program Managers to build compelling itineraries
    • Maintain an innovation mindset while balancing operational feasibility and financial discipline
    • Ensure new products meet brand standards
    • Oversee strategy, pricing and execution of Custom Tours

    In addition, you’ll be responsible for:

    • Tour Guide Management
    • Trade Shows / Conferences
    • Product Operations

    Required Skills & Expertise:

    • 10+ years in product development, operations, or supplier management within travel/tour operations industries
    • Must be willing to travel between 21 to 42 days annually
    • Proven leadership experience with demonstrated ability of setting goals, managing teams, and enforcing accountability
    • Strong background in itinerary design, contracting, pricing and vendor negotiations
    • Experience improving processes, solving operational issues, and implementing quality-control systems
    • Comfortable adopting and leading teams through new technology systems
    • Analytical mindset with fluency in Excel, cost modeling and pricing strategy
    • Passion for travel and designing exceptional group tours; international travel experience is a strong plus

    $100,000 per year
