St. David's Episcopal Day School is seeking a steady, relational, and emotionally intelligent leader to serve as its next Head of School.
Following a period of transition, the school is well-positioned with strong enrollment, a committed faculty, and a supportive church community, but requires a leader who can bring clarity, consistency, and calm authority to the environment.
The Role
The Head of School is the leader of the school's people, programs, and culture.
You will:
- Set direction and expectations across the school
- Lead and develop faculty
- Be highly visible in classrooms and daily school life
- Build trust with families and staff
- Partner with church leadership
This role is hands-on, relational, and leadership intensive.
Leadership Structure
You will directly supervise the Operations Manager, who owns admissions, logistics, and daily operations.
- You lead people, instruction, and culture
- The Operations Manager executes systems and operations

Instructional Leadership
- Elevate teaching quality across classrooms
- Conduct observations and coach faculty
Faculty Leadership
- Set clear expectations and accountability
- Address performance directly and professionally
Culture & Communication
- Rebuild trust through consistency and transparency
- Create clarity where ambiguity previously existed
Family Leadership
- Serve as a visible, confident presence
- Manage complex parent dynamics with professionalism

Background
Required
- Leadership experience in early childhood or elementary education
- Experience supervising and developing staff
- Strong communication and organizational leadership skills
Preferred
- Faith-based or Episcopal school experience
- Experience leading through organizational or cultural transition
Compensation
$80,000 – $100,000 , commensurate with experience
