    Job Description

    FIELD INTERVIEWER - TRAVEL + BONUS! On behalf of our client, Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking outgoing and motivated interviewers who have experience traveling, conducting in-person field interviews, and collecting data. Candidates must be self-motivated, professional, organized, and enjoy speaking with all kinds of people. You will visit respondents at their homes, in various communities and introduce them to the study. The pay rate for this position is $22.25/hr and includes performance bonus opportunities that will boost your earning potential!

    ABOUT THE STUDY

    For over 40 years, the Survey of the American Consumer study allows consumers to express their opinions and preferences on all sorts of questions, including media, product usage, and consumer behavior in nearly 600 categories. Our client conducts thousands of in-person interviews year-round and participating respondents receive an incentive as a thank you.

    AS A FIELD INTERVIEWER, YOU WILL...

    • Travel and work consistently for 2 weeks with 1 week off between assignments
    • Work a 14-day travel assignment schedule (average 6 hours per day) that includes weekdays and weekends, afternoons, and evenings
    • Visit pre-selected addresses, screen and gain respondent cooperation and conduct in-person interviews using a tablet
    • Keep respondent information and interview details confidential
    • Work independently in the field and check-in daily with assigned supervisor
    • Complete administrative paperwork
    • Be required to wear a mask when completing an interview (respondents are not obligated to wear a mask)
    • Follow all company mandated health and safety protocols
    • Treat all respondents with sincere professionalism

    AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT, ALL EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO…

    • Provide proof of full vaccination for COVID including one booster prior to the start of employment
    • Present proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States
    • Have a driver’s license and unlimited use of an automobile in working condition (exceptions may be made for areas with reliable public transportation)
    • Consent to the performance of a background check including motor vehicle report
    • Attend paid virtual group training sessions prior to the first assignment and for the duration of employment
    • Have a high school diploma or GED

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • In-person interviewing experience on household studies
    • Strong reading, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Strong technology skills (using smartphone and tablet)
    • Previous field work experience requiring travel

    PAY AND TRAINING

    • Paid time and mileage for traveling to selected households
    • Mileage reimbursement at standard government rate
    • Per diem provided on travel assignments
    • Complete 25 hours of training
    • Must use device with large screen [no cell phones] and camera, and have reliable Internet to successfully complete training course
    • Training dates/times established once onboarding paperwork is completed

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle for study purposes
    • Get in and out of a car multiple times a day while visiting areas
    • Walk from house to house within neighborhoods
    • Carry a laptop and other materials up flights of stairs
    • Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening and fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
    • Exposure to various weather and environments, as might be expected in a field interviewing role
