    Women’s Health Services is seeking a full-time Health Education and Counselling Coordinator to join our team. As a team member, you will be an important part of a well-established and growing independent abortion clinic.

    Health Education and Counselling Coordinator

    Responsible for:

    · Overall operations of the counseling team and activities, including in-person sessions and information provided over the telephone.

    · Ensuring scheduling and pre-appointment education provided is appropriate and adequate for upcoming visits.

    · Confirming that medical team has completed “med checks” and that pre-appointment testing (if any) is completed.

    · Supervising individual cases with excessive logistics, including cases involving minors, congenital anomalies, intimate partner violence, substance use disorder, and sever mental health challenges.

    · Onboarding and training of new health educators/counselors.

    · Monitoring credentialing of team members, maintenance of team members’ proficiency.

    · Conducting regular huddles for team.

    · Transmitting policy and workflow changes to health educators/counselors and monitoring the adoption of these by the entire team.

    · Identifying need for professional development programming for health educators/counselors and coordinating delivery of such training.

    · Ongoing assessment of the program and opportunities for improved service.

    · Proposes, implements, and evaluates practice changes to benefit patients and operations.

    · Establishing and monitoring quality assurance measures for health education/counseling services.

    · Evaluating the quality of informational materials and maintaining stock of these.

    · Monitoring the status of referral resources and access to these.

    · Maintaining relationships with funding resources and supporting patients’ access to these.

    Requirements:

    · Commitment to reproductive justice and access to abortion care.

    · Strong interpersonal skills.

    · Nonjudgmental, patient-centered, and culturally-sensitive approach to all.

    · Functions as reliable, independent, proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.

    · Ability to navigate stressful situations in a professional and compassionate manner.

    · BA in human services related field.

    · Experience with project and team management.

    · Non-English language skills desirable.

    · Must be available during morning hours.
