  • Responsibilities

    A position is currently available for a Test Engineer for adversary threat system simulations. Candidate will serve as technical lead for verification and validation of cruise missile modeling and simulation (M&S) products.  Responsibilities will include customer interface and coordination of multi-organizational teams for multiple simultaneous products. This role is considered a key member of the management team. Responsibilities also include overseeing development of the test vignettes, mission based test design, and system requirements for validating and verifying models; ensuring that the test designs employed sufficiently validate and verify the models; ensuring execution of sensitivity analysis in regards to Electronic Warfare to include Electronic Attack and Electronic Protection to assist in identifying model limitations and possible refinements; overseeing evaluation of data after every simulated test event.

    Must establish test plans and to V&V complex M&S products addressing adversary missile systems. M&S products will address detailed flight performance and signatures of adversary systems and will support integration into federated simulation architectures. Candidate will coordinate multi-disciplinary activities including Systems, Aerodynamics, Sensors, Signature, and Software functional groups related to the development and production of software and data products. Candidate will be responsible for the test product and articles to ensure adversary threat system simulation products are verified and validated.

    Candidate will work directly with the navy customer, program management and subject matter experts. Responsibilities include supporting communication and documentation, as well as interfacing with both government customers and contractors to establish and verify product requirements and specifications. 

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  5+ years of experience plus BS Degree (Advanced Degree Preferred). Candidate must possess a degree in one of the following: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant technical degrees (advanced degrees preferred). Candidate must be a strong, proactive leader with demonstrated experience leading test teams. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as organizational skills. Candidate must have demonstrated interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams. Occasional travel within the DC Metro area is required.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated evidence of the following desired: Knowledge of aerospace /defense systems technology domains; Work experience involving agency Operational Test Authority with appropriate DAWIA certifications in either Test and Evaluation or Program Management is preferred. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, make effective and timely decisions, solve problems, and facilitate organizational and procedural changes; Experience presenting at technical reviews utilizing Microsoft Office Products. Experience working with documentation in LaTeX is beneficial. Experience with mid to large scale high-fidelity modeling and simulation software development programs; Experience with cruise or ballistic missile defense programs; Demonstrated development and maintenance of strong working relationships with customers, contractors and teammates; Demonstrated experience working with Aegis contractors in a test environment is highly desired. Navy, Air Force, and DoD contractors in a test environment is also desired. Most desired candidate can present a resume that is able to demonstrate systems engineering capabilities focusing on verification and validation. Operational Test and Evaluation experience is desired.
