    BACKGROUND: Tallahassee Community College’s Department of Communications and Humanities provides several opportunities for members of the local community and TCC students and faculty to work together in providing performing arts events to the Tallahassee community. Such opportunities for college and community collaboration include the TCC African Drum and Dance Ensemble, the Tallahassee Civic Chorale, and Capitol City Band of TCC. We seek individuals with a love of the arts and a desire to learn to facilitate performing opportunities for students and non-students alike.

     

    MAJOR FUNCTION: Responsibilities include: attending regular rehearsals with the given performing ensembles, practicing music and dance repertoire, offering instruction and direction to the ensembles where appropriate, and participating in all major performances.

     

    MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:  No experience required.

     

    SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Appropriate background and experience with music and/or dance; enthusiasm for and knowledge of the traditions and repertoire of the respective music and dance forms; collegial attitude toward fellow ensemble members; ability to focus and follow instruction during rehearsal; willingness to work outside of rehearsal time to perfect individual parts; commitment to the highest possible quality of performance.

    Preferred

    • In-depth knowledge of regulations and procedures governing MediCal and other state sponsored programs.
    • In-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of managed care.
