    Job Title : Health Promotion Program Coordinator (50% FTE)

    Reports to : Executive Director

    Position Summary :

    Social connection is essential to health and well-being, yet many older adults experience loneliness and social isolation. While these challenges are common, they are not an inevitable part of aging—and they can be addressed through intentional community engagement and supportive programs. This Health Promotion Program Coordinator will lead, develop, promote, engage, and oversee all social connection initiatives and activities at WIHA, helping older adults build meaningful relationships and stay connected to their communities.

    Position Responsibilities :

    • Coordinate the Wisconsin Coalition for Social Connection (WCSC)
      • Work with Deputy Director to maintain a web presence for consumer and professional social connection content and interactive tools.
      • Collaborate with WIHA staff to develop and maintain public awareness messages, tools, and a campaign to promote social connection the WCSC website.
      • Represent the WCSC at statewide and national meetings as appropriate.
      • Schedule meetings and support coalition steering committee and work groups
      • Coordinate, develop, and share social connection awareness education materials, proclamations, activities, and more.
      • Support local coalitions and community-based efforts with learning opportunities, resources, technical assistance and coordinated initiatives.
      • Gather, manage, and report WI social isolation and loneliness-related data.
    • Assist with and coordinate WIHA special projects and research.
      • Participate in grant projects on social connection, as assigned.
      • Support the development of content, resources, interactive tools, and a web presence for both consumers and professionals related to social connection.
      • Collaborate with staff to develop and disseminate promotional and motivational messaging and tools to encourage participation.
      • Promote WIHA and programs/initiatives.
      • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience

    Required :

    • Project management, including program evaluation
    • Convening and facilitating collaborative teams
    • Data extraction and analysis
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred :

    • Three or more years of experience working with Wisconsin or another state’s Aging Network and/or local public health agencies.
    • Experience working with older adults and/or adults with disabilities.
    • Experience with facilitating coalitions and/or active participation on coalitions.

    Education

    Required :

    • Bachelor’s degree in health education, social science, psychology, aging, or health-related field required.

    Licenses or Certifications:

    Required :

    • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license

    • This position is expected to be a self-starter, organized, and reliable reporting to the Executive Director.

    Location of Work

    • This position is remote with some travel required for in-person team meetings, partner meetings, and/or presentations (8-10 times per year). Most travel is in Wisconsin but occasionally may be outside the state.
    • Employee must reside in the state of Wisconsin.

    Compensation

    • Beginning at $26.44 per hour, with the potential for a higher rate commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
