Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Health Services Administrator to manage the administrative operations of the healthcare department at a federal metropolitan detention center in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. You will coordinate staffing schedules, manage budgets and procurement, oversee compliance reporting, and serve as the administrative bridge between clinical staff and facility leadership within the Bureau of Prisons Health Services Division framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative operations of the health services department including staffing schedules, supply chain, and facility coordination
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets, track expenditures, and manage procurement for medical supplies and equipment
- Coordinate credentialing, privileging, and onboarding for incoming healthcare providers
- Compile and submit required BOP health services reports, workload statistics, and quality metrics
- Support ACA/NCCHC accreditation activities including documentation, policy maintenance, and audit preparation
- Manage contracts and service agreements with outside medical providers, reference laboratories, and specialty consultants
- Serve as liaison between health services staff, facility administration, and BOP regional office
- Coordinate emergency preparedness plans for health services operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare administration or management experience
- Proficiency with healthcare management systems, budgeting, and reporting tools
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
- Master degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA) or Public Health (MPH)
- Federal or correctional healthcare administration experience
- NCCHC or ACA accreditation experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 annually
