Position Summary
The Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining compliance with all applicable health, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as the school's subject matter expert on health and safety practices, ensuring a safe environment for children and staff while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory Management
Monitor compliance with state childcare licensing regulations, health department requirements, and company policies.
Conduct routine facility inspections
Maintain accurate records, reports, certifications, and compliance documentation.
Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and licensing visits.
Stay current on changes to health, safety, and childcare regulations.
Health & Safety Programs
Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety.
Ensure proper sanitation, infection control, and emergency preparedness protocols are followed.
Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action plans.
Coordinate emergency drills, including fire, severe weather, lockdown, and evacuation procedures.
Training & Employee Support
Train staff on health, safety, and compliance requirements.
Provide ongoing coaching and guidance regarding Goddard’s Health and Safety requirements and safety best practices.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the school.
Facility & Environmental Safety
Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, playgrounds, kitchens, and common areas.
Coordinate with vendors and maintenance personnel to address safety concerns promptly.
Monitor health standards and corrective actions.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, health and safety, childcare operations, education administration, or a related field.
Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and workplace safety practices preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Preferred Skills
Experience conducting audits and compliance inspections.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience delivering training and presentations.
