Job Description
OVERVIEW:
Human Resource clerks provide administrative support to a company's personnel department. They handle office duties for the HR Department, type letters, forwards mail, answer phones, and greet potential employees and help schedule interviews. They work for a department that hires and trains new employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Inputs applicant information into the database, and prepares reports.
- Maintains confidential employee files and various other records and reports.
- Schedules interview appointments with applicants.
- Receives, copies, and distributes courier and in-coming mail.
- Assists with pre-employment testing.
- Sets-up and maintains filing systems, including indexing, retrieving, and reorganizing files.
- Assists with processing PCFs (Personnel Change Forms) and PRF forms (Personnel Requisition Forms) and personnel records.
- Maintains position and application filing.
- Prepares correspondence for the HR Dept.
- Assists with new hire orientations and other meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school Diploma/GED required.
- Preferably with some technical training in business or clerical related fields.
- One year of clerical experience that included data entry and word processing.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, not required.
- Current California driver’s license with clean DMV and proof of vehicle insurance required.
