JOB OVERVIEW: Atlas Van Lines is seeking a qualified equipment prep worker to join our team! The candidate will be responsible for preparing equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner. The Equipment Prep’s duties include the following:

• Provide estimates (time and materials required) for painting requests
• Prepare various surfaces, and parts of truck, trailers, liftgates, etc. for painting as required by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting, or other means
• Layout paint scheme per customer's specifications, mask and protect parts not to be painted
• Determine quantities and type of primers and topcoats for different surfaces and repainting necessary to achieve desired, consistency, and drying properties
• Prepare and paint equipment with a spray gun or appropriate applicator in a safe, timely, cost-effective and practical manner
• Inspect all work for quality and accuracy of workmanship to include runs, sags, coverage, color and gloss
• Assist with clean up of newly painted unit (tape and masking removal)
• Clean and store tools and equipment and clean work sites.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE & HOURS: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours are 4:00pm-12:30am, M-F. Possible overtime.

Required Skills

• Good reasoning ability and detail-oriented
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulations is a plus
• Experience with TMT software is a plus
