    PATH has an office established in Myanmar in late 2013. The PATH Myanmar Country Program is currently implementing a broad portfolio of activities on a range of health issues including nutrition, vaccines and immunization systems strengthening, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, and infectious diseases.

     

    PATH is seeking a Project Manager to provide HCWM (Sharp Needle Waste Management and PPE waste management) technical support to the local partners and health service providers. This position reports to the Director, of Family Hea, lth and is based in Yangon. This person will help local partners and service providers to establish sharp needle and PPE Waste Management in their health facilities, disinfection the Level 2 PPE waste disposal by health providers and recycle and market linkage with local recycling businesses for disinfected plastic waste to reduce environmental pollution.

     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    • Provide technical input and training related to health care waste management (HCWM) to local partners and service providers

    • Modify the existing training materials with updated information (integration of PPE disinfection and preparation of disinfectant solution)

    • Lead the coordination meeting among stakeholders and working groups to discuss HCWM guidelines/protocol

    • Ensure all local partners execute the HCWM practices according to the trained guideline with timely completion of work and reporting

    • Oversee, track and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule and work plan including activities, reporting requirements, and deliverables.

    • Prepare technical and program summary reports including reports to the donor, articles for publication, and other dissemination channels of project success.

    • Represent PATH in technical working groups, workshops, task force groups, and expert committees to advocate PATH HCWM work

    • Contribute to PATH’s overall program, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Family Health

    • To participate in PATH’s business development if it is a requirement.

     

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

     

    • Advanced degree (MD or MPH highly preferred) in public health, health policy, public policy, and administration, or other related fields.

    • At least seven years of relevant work experience in health/public health, of which a minimum of three years in leading and managing a project. Experience in excellent project management and monitoring and evaluation required; minimum of two years of staff supervision.

    • Experience with advocacy, communications, and HCWM projects, capacity building, and/or training preferred. Experience working in cross-functional, cross-organizational, and virtual international teams preferred.

    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and solution-oriented skills for maximizing program progress and impact.

    • Demonstrated ability to work with a range of external partners and community members; experience working with community-based organizations, civil society organizations, and government agencies.

    • Proficiency in oral and written Burmese.

    • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills in English.

    • Able to travel domestically up to 25% annually as needed, in support of project activities and support to partners.

    • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; Skype.
