    INTERN PROGRAM

    This programme is ideal for someone looking for an Industrial Placement and is interested in pursuing a career in Accounting but would also like to gain experience in all areas of business. At JDA, we aim to provide our interns with the opportunity to undertake work experience in different departments within the organisation. This gives you the opportunity to explore other functions of the business and really gain an understanding of how the business works.

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    This is a work experience training scheme to provide exposure to the finance and accounting functions of a multinational company.  To provide comprehensive, all round accounting support to the EMEA Accounting Team which comprises Payroll, Accounts Payable and General Ledger

     

    KEY TASKS

    Tasks include, but are not limited to:

    INITIAL ON-BOARDING WEEKS:

    • Introduction with individual training manager
    • Company on-boarding - classroom based. Interns will learn more about the company including company policies, vision and general employee tools/resources.
    • Technical on-boarding – classroom based training. The intern will learn more about ERP systems, company business processes and will receive an overview of designing flowcharts
    • Introduction to wider team they will be working with
    • Team building activities
    • Allocation of a small, straight forward accounting task. The aim is to get the intern used to JDA and identify areas for development and areas of strength that may be relevant to the rest of the internship.

    DURING INTERNSHIP:

    • Whilst being involved in the various functions the aim is to complete a series of projects designed to last 2-6 months.
    • Intern’s performance is reviewed quarterly; workload is managed weekly depending on needs and projects assigned at the time.
    • Intern is mentored to ensure that this feedback is incorporated into the next quarter's work
    • Accounting managers take steps (depending on needs of the particular intern) to help improve the intern’s knowledge

    FINAL WEEKS:

    • Completion of assigned project or transition of project to another team member
    • Presentation of findings / results of the project they have been working on

     

    PERSON SPECIFICATION:

    • Interested in a career in Accounting
    • Studying for a business-related degree
    • Strong organisational and time keeping skills
    • Sensitive to employee issues and confidentiality
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
    • “Can do” approach – a real team player who is willing to support and help the team as required
    • Flexibility and open mindset

     

    EXPERIENCE YOU WILL GAIN:

    • Experience operations in a multinational Software Organisation
    • Learn best practice on Accounting techniques
    • Develop time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
    • Experience how a busy Accounting Department works
    • Experience working with different cultures (JDA operates in 15 Countries within EMEA)
