HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a part-time (8-15 hrs / week) HEALTH FITNESS SPECIALIST at our client site in Longview, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for providing fitness center floor supervision, interacting with members and program participants, delivering health and fitness programs and services, special events, exercise classes, fitness testing and a variety of other promotions. You will be responsible for providing outstanding service to members & program participants to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fitness Center supervision and customer service; interacts with participants and ensures participants safety.
• Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.
• Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the member’s interests, abilities and goals.
• Assists with the development and/or delivery of a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions.
• Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility and equipment are always clean.  Ensures personnel and facility appearance meet standards.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a health & fitness related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc) required.
• CPR & AED certifications from either American Heart Association or American Red Cross required but may be obtained after hire.
• Industry recognized Group Exercise certification preferred.
• Personal Training certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NSCA or NASM preferred.
