    PATH’s Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MNTD) program is a leader in the effort to end malaria illnesses and deaths, refines and develops tools and approaches, invests in national programs, and builds data to empower national governments to pursue malaria elimination.

     

    PATH is recruiting a highly motivated, results-oriented study lead for a pilot implementation of perennial malaria chemoprevention (PMC), previously known as IPTi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This is a GiveWell-funded project.

     

    A successful candidate will have a background/ interest in global health, be highly motivated and hard working with exceptional organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. This role will rely on skills in building collaborations, partnering with broad stakeholder groups, working across global teams, clear communication, and strong time and people management.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

     

    • Provide overall leadership and operational management of the project
    • Develop and manage project work plans, and associated implementation, monitoring and control processes
    • Ensure that grant operations and activities are in full compliance with PATH and donor regulations and aligned to operations
    • Collaborate with the global technical team to develop and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
    • Coordinate and collaborate closely with the DRC PNLP to develop the delivery strategy and M&E plan to ensure effective implementation of PMC under programmatic conditions.
    • Lead the evaluation of the pilot implementation, including developing the study protocol and associated data collection tools and SOPs, in collaboration with the global technical team and in-country implementing and research partners.
    • Manage and supervise the work of project team and coordinate project partners
    • Oversee financial management, including programmatic budgeting, spending projections, and monitoring of payments in compliance with donor standards
    • Work with the global and DRC MNTD team to convene country level PMC Advisory Groups and to strategically work with key stakeholders to ensure the project meets its technical objectives
    • Ensure high-quality periodic reporting in line with donor and PATH requirements
    • Work closely with finance and administrative staff to provide regular operational oversight
    • Oversee the preparation of project reports, analyses, and presentations, in collaboration with the global technical team and in-country research partners.
    • Ensure tracking and monitoring of key PMC project milestones in close collaboration with M&E team
    • Represent the project at meetings and conferences with donors and partner organizations
    • Serve as technical focal point for project in country partners, ensuring that they are up-to-date on project progress

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, science or medicine, public policy, or equivalent degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience with large-scale public health interventions or programmatic implementations preferred
    • Experience running evaluation and epidemiological studies in low resource settings
    • Experience with drug-based strategies, malaria, or EPI preferred
    • Excellent oral and written French and English communication skills
    • Superior project leadership skills in managing global project team with demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and partners, provide technical assistance, and coordinate implementation activities
    • Demonstrated capacity to operate within the malaria international community strongly preferred
    • Experience in sub-Saharan Africa highly preferred; experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills with ability to interact with diverse colleagues and partners
    • Exceptional problem solving, bridge building, and diplomacy abilities
    • Comfortable managing in a flexible and changing environment, with ability to adjust plans and direction in response to local feedback and the iterative nature of the project
    • Willingness to relocate to DRC is preferred

    We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $147,816-$249,732. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.

    HYBRID WORK

    PATH operates within a hybrid workplace model unless otherwise noted. Hybrid employees must reside within commuting distance to one of our PATH offices. PATH’s US offices are located in Seattle, WA and Washington, DC.

     

    COVID-19 VACCINE REQUIREMENT
