    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses multitude accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior team members and reports to the Controller, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

     1.      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in accounting, finance or a related field or a minimum of  2 years Health Care experience.

    2.      Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills.

    3.      Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information confidentially.

    4.      Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    5.      Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills.

    6.      Previous experience in the Health Care industry is highly preferred.

    7.      Ability to manage multi-company accounting activity

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1.      Create and distribute client financial statements according to GAAP.

    2.      Prepare, maintain and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for external CPA, Department of Managed Health Care and client companies.

    3.      Facilitate timely client distributions according to company policy.

    4.      Prepare month end Balance Sheet account reconciliation and profit and loss statements trend analysis for each client.

    5.      Support preparation of quarterly federal and state tax returns.

    6.      Assist with Budgeting and Forecasting.

    7.      Support Risk Pool Accounting

    8.      Support IBNR Calculations

    9.      Support IPA audits.

    10.    Support 1099 administration.

    11.    Support/Prepare Reinsurance payment and administration.

    12.    Assist in special projects as needed.

    13.    Support the Controller to determine goals, budget, and training plans, if required.
