    Sheboygan Senior Community (SSC) – Sheboygan, WI

    Sheboygan Senior Community (SSC) is hiring a Billing Specialist with experience in healthcare billing, medical billing, and insurance claims processing to join our Business Office team. SSC is a faith-based nonprofit and the only free-standing continuum of care senior living community in Sheboygan County.

    Pay: $22–$27/hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday–Friday | No weekends or holidays Shift: 1st shift | Flexible start and end times

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare and process monthly resident billing statements and invoices

    Submit, track, and resolve Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance claims

    Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage

    Manage accounts receivable, post payments, and reduce bad debt

    Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims

    Review billing documentation for accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness

    Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of patient and financial data

    Assist with month-end financial reporting

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent required

    3+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare billing

    Experience billing Medicaid, Medicare, HMOs, or government-funded payers

    2–5 years of Business Office or healthcare administration experience

    Knowledge of medical terminology, EOBs, remittance advice, and denial codes

    Proficiency with EHR systems, billing software, and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

    Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
