    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Program Director for the Health Care Management (HCM) program serves as the designated, qualified administrator responsible for the academic and administrative leadership of the program. The Program Director ensures curriculum currency and quality, supervises and develops faculty, monitors student progress and program outcomes, and maintains the program in continuous compliance with ACCSC Standards of Accreditation as well as applicable state and federal requirements.

    COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE

    Hourly Range: $27-$30 an hour, Part-time converting into Full-Time as program scales up

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • Master’s degree in Health Care Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA. (A bachelor’s degree combined with substantial, directly related management experience may be considered where permitted.)

    • Academic credentials equal to or higher than the credential the program awards.

    Licensure / Credentials

    • Professional certification appropriate to the field is preferred where applicable (e.g., FACHE, CMM, RHIA, CPC, or comparable credential).

    Experience

    • Minimum of three to five (3–5) years of professional experience in health care management, administration, or a related area of the health care industry.

    • Minimum of two (2) years of postsecondary teaching and/or educational administration experience preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation, programmatic assessment, and student outcomes (retention, graduation, and graduate employment).

    DOCUMENTATION OF QUALIFICATIONS (MAINTAINED IN PERSONNEL FILE)

    • Current resume or curriculum vitae (CV).

    • Official transcripts documenting all degrees earned.

    • Copies of all applicable professional licenses and certifications.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide overall academic and administrative leadership for the Health Care Management program.

    • Develop, review, and revise curriculum, course objectives, and instructional materials to ensure content is current, relevant, and aligned with industry needs and program objectives.

    • Recruit, orient, supervise, schedule, and evaluate program faculty, including classroom and instructional observations.

    • Develop and support faculty in-service training and individual professional development plans.

    • Monitor and document student academic progress, advising, retention, and satisfactory academic progress.

    • Establish and convene a Program Advisory Committee and incorporate its input into program improvements.

    • Collect, analyze, and act on program outcomes data — including retention, graduation, and graduate employment rates — and maintain documentation for ACCSC reporting.

    • Support institutional accreditation activities, including the Self-Evaluation Report, Annual Report, and any required response to the Commission.

    • Oversee the adequacy and maintenance of instructional equipment, learning resources, and facilities for the program.

    • Assist with budgeting and resource planning for the program.

    • Enforce institutional policies and promote a professional, student-centered learning environment.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Education or campus leadership.

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & EVALUATION

    The incumbent will participate in institutional in-service training, maintain an individual professional development plan to sustain current knowledge and skills in the field, and be subject to periodic performance evaluation, which may include classroom/laboratory observation, in accordance with ACCSC Standards and institutional policy.
