We're looking for a MENTAL HEALTH INTAKE SPECIALIST to join our team at Davidson County Jail! You'll be screening, assessing, and referring inmates in the Davidson County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) custody for mental health and psychiatric services. Provide on-going assessments, medication checks, and crisis intervention services for inmates in DCSO custody.
This is a three-day work week, 12 hour shift, WED, THUR, FRI 6:30PM TO 7:00AM
TO JOIN OUR TEAM, YOU'LL NEED:
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history, mental status, and physical health to refer to appropriate mental health services
- Ability to provide on going assessment and care of the mental health needs of inmates
- Collaborative spirit to work with Vanderbilt Forensic team, DCSO Behavioral Health Director, and medical provider regarding recommendation, admissions, forensic evaluations, and inmate crisis management
- Ability to support and encourage medication compliance with APN and Psychiatrist's orders regarding inmates treatment
- Sense of urgency to communicate with various service providers and pharmacies ensuring adequate and rapid medication verification
- Master's Degree in the Mental Health Field with LMSW, LCSW, or LPC (Temporary LPC is sufficient) or eligible within six months
