Job Description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Program Specialist to provide services for a County Run Program designed to support healthy living throughout Los Angeles County. The program aims to reduce consumption of unhealthy foods, increase consumption of healthy foods, increase consumption of healthy beverages, reduce consumption of unhealthy beverages, increase levels of physical activity, and optimize the food system.

The position is full time and will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance The position is funded through March 31, 2021.

PAY RATE-

$7,700 per month salary ( Working a minimum of 40 hours a week)

BENEFITS:

12 holiday days 12 sick days (accrued) 10 vacation days (accrued)

HEALTHCARE

Fully Funded Healthcare (anthem blue cross), Dental and Vision, Life Insurance from initial start date.

SHIFTS: M-F

Employee will be working a minimum of 8 hours a day, from 7AM TO 7PM

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• •A Bachelor's degree in education, nutrition, or other health-related field from an accredited college or university -AND- at least five (5) of experience in program development, program planning, or health promotion;
• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in public health, government agency, non-profit organization, or on behalf of a government agency in the development or implementation of school-based program; and
• Valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or ability to secure timely transportation for off-site travel to various community sites throughout Los Angeles County

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

•A Master’s degree in Public Health or Public Policy from an accredited college or university with a concentration in education, nutrition, or other health-related field;

•Work experience managing grant-funded, time sensitive projects;

•Ability to act with judgment, confidence, and personal initiative;

•Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly visible work environment;

•Good interpersonal and external communication skills;

•Computer literate and skilled in use of Microsoft (MS) Windows-based programs, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); and

•Bilingual (English/Spanish).
