    Job Description

    Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Data Architect. The Data Architect will assist with COVID-19 administrative efforts and supervise a team of analysts and other technical and support personnel providing technical and consultative services to the management of a program or oversee a small Countywide health program. The Data Architect will report directly to the VAB Data Management and Epi Unit Chief for professional oversight and direction. The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 11/30/21 with potential renewal. PAY RATE- $66.23/hr working 40 hours a week ( Possibility for a lot of overtime) BENEFITS: Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time, PTO HEALTHCARE Employer Fully Funded Healthcare (Anthem Blue Cross), Dental and Vision, Life Insurance from Initial Start Date. SHIFTS: M-F Employee will be working a minimum of 8 hours a day between the hours of 7 AM to 7 PM. JOB DUTIES a) Supervises and participates in the coordination and facilitation of collaborative efforts among epidemiologists, data systems, and programmatic teams within Public Health to maximize efficiency in surveillance systems; b) Liaises with external partners to coordinate logistics and set up workflows and standards for data-collection systems related to COVID-19 projects; c) Reviews written reports on program activities and progress toward achieving the overall goals of the program; d) Ensures standardization of code books, processes, definitions, and workflows; e) Develops written protocols and program objectives and summaries; f) Conducts meetings with departmental, public, private, non- profit groups, and community organizations to discuss COVID-19 control activities; g) Utilizes at least one of the following statistical languages: R, Statistical Analysis Software (SAS), STATA, Python, or Structured Query Language (SQL) for daily data work; h) May supervise the work of program staff and coordinate the activities of professional and technical staff implementing COVID-19 surveillance and control activities; i) Complies with all required Public Health trainings; and j) Accepts responsibility for other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in either public health administration, epidemiology, public health statistics, public health microbiology or communicable disease control -AND- five years of experience working in public health programs -OR- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in either public health administration, epidemiology, community health services, public policy -AND- two years of work experience in a public health setting; and • Valid Class C California Driver’s License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • Windows-based laptop or desktop device, with a speaker and mic; • Reliable Wi-fi/internet access; • Strong knowledge of public health disease surveillance; and Strong knowledge of data system Quality Assurance development.
