Job Description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals is looking for a Public Relations Specialist to develop and maintain effective communications strategies, coordinate communications projects, and help implement initiatives to completion. Initiatives that the Public Relations Specialist will lead and contribute to include social media content development, planning press events and special events, managing the development and production of marketing materials, and overseeing digital asset management. The ideal candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree, 5-7 years or more of similar or related experience preferred, creative writing experience preferably in the healthcare field, and strong project management skills.

Candidate should also possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

The position is full time and will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance. The position is funded through March 31, 2021 with a possibility of extension given sufficient funding.

• Develop and oversee integrated communication plans and strategies consistent with project and CalFresh Healthy Living program communication goals
• Develop (virtual) press kit materials for media outlets, including press releases, graphics and images; pitch letters, feature articles, and trend stories
• Help maintain the brand identity and reputation of the CalFresh Healthy Living program
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with regional and/ or national media outlets
• Arrange for press conferences, interviews, and other media and event appearances for the CalFresh Health Living program
• Plan and implement CalFresh Healthy Living special events and/or summits
• Originate and coordinate production of social media and marketing materials such as brochures, take-aways, and announcements
• Serve as project liaison with program and local organizations that involve high-level community leaders and government officials
• Write talking points or speeches for CalFresh Healthy Living spokespeople
• Respond to requests for information from media outlets
• Evaluate advertising and promotional programs to ensure they align with PR goals
• Track, evaluate, and share results of PR efforts
• Coordinate scheduling and logistics as necessary for events and media interviews

PAY RATE $7,700 per month salary (Working a minimum of 40 hours a week)

BENEFITS: 12 holiday days 12 sick days (accrued) 10 vacation days (accrued)
