We are looking for a fun, passionate and motivated Studio Manager to join our leadership team to oversee our Back Bay and Cambridge Healthworks locations! Key Responsibilities:
Member Experience
Manages group fitness programs and schedules at Back Bay and Cambridge Healthworks club locations; ensuring we are meeting the needs and fitness goals of our members and prospective members;
Conducting ongoing industry analyses to ensure that our program is competitive;
Analyze instructor availability and class performance to maximize class utilization;
Analyze and respond to member feedback and propose changes to the program as necessary;
Build relationships with members and instructors;
Assist in growing the member and instructor group fitness community.
Instructor Community
Research, plan and provide continuing education opportunities to instructor staff;
Develop a culture of continual constructive feedback and open lines of communication with instructors;
Ability to provide constructive feedback and demonstrate accountability strategies to keep the instructor team focused;
Promote Healthworks Group promotions and happenings around all clubs so that instructors are informed and can cross promote other events throughout the clubs;
Host a minimum of two yearly open auditions;
Assist in on-boarding new instructors, instructor retention, as well as instructor evaluations and documentation if necessary;
Responsible for holding instructors accountable to all aspects of their position;
Oversee instructor subbing system and policies.
Financial
Manage each club's individual group fitness budget;
Manage special events budgets and coordinate across clubs when hosting promotional events, special classes, etc.;
Ability to analyze key metrics and present opportunities for improvement based on data;
Manage payroll and instructor pay rates.
Managerial
Conduct daily studio walk-throughs, including equipment maintenance and equipment inventory, to ensure that each studio is in pristine condition;
Analyze class counts to track participation and propose changes to the group fitness schedule to optimize utilization;
Extremely detail oriented, organized and resourceful;
Ability to work autonomously and in group setting;
Assist in market research and new program development;
Team player who approaches challenges in a creative and positive manner;
Flexible and able to help when and where needed;
Plan and execute events and promotional materials while working closely with the Marketing team;
Lead by example as a leader in the studios.
Qualifications:
At least one-year of group fitness related experience;
A thorough understanding of exercise and industry trends;
Group fitness certification and experience teaching various group fitness formats;
Commitment to providing top notch customer service and delivering an exceptional class experience;
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups;
Ability to deliver feedback and hold other's accountable to their actions and performance;
Organized, flexible and resourceful;
Ability to travel between multiple locations;
Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft office;
Team player who approaches challenges in a creative and positive manner;
Enthusiasm and passion for fitness and inspired by and committed to the Healthworks Group vision, mission and core values;
A willingness to work some weekend, evenings and holidays as needed.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Physiology or relevant education/experience;
Current CPR/AED Certifications;
Current Group Fitness Certification;
Additional certifications a plus.
