    Job Description

    SUMMARY:    Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the primary duty of the Regional Sales Manager is the management of a region’s retail stores and sales.

     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

     ·         Promotes the general goals and objectives of the Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries.

    ·         Directs a Retail Operations department that can operate within an established budget.

    ·         Hires, trains, evaluates, promotes, and terminates all department personnel

    ·         Sets and meets sales goals for each store as approved by the Vice President, Operations.

    ·         Responsible for receipt, pricing, shipping of purchased goods from assigned vendors.

    ·         Implements maintenance schedules on all retail department equipment.

    ·         Assures that proper payroll records are kept and forwarded to the accounting department, per established guidelines.

    ·         Establishes and monitors inventory controls.

    ·         Maintains and monitors the store safety program.

    ·         Serves in a public relations capacity when needed.

    ·         Assures that stores are properly utilized in regards to location, overhead, and layout.

    ·         Provides leadership, guidance, and professional development to staff and co-workers.

    ·         Models the expected behavior of staff and co-workers.

    ·         Directs, supervises, and coordinates staff activities to assure retail goals and objectives are being met

    ·         Ensures departmental equity and compliance with all company policies and procedures

    ·         Maintains strictest confidentiality in all aspects of work.

     SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the retail operations department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the retail operations department.

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; terminating employment; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's Degree in business or management or 3 year’s management experience in a business with more than 10 employees; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Multi-location management strongly preferred. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Must maintain a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.

    ·         Is regularly required to talk or hear.

    ·         Must be able to walk and stand for up to eight hours per day.

    ·         Must be able to regularly lift and carry 30 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

    ·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches and less) and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

    Additional Information

    Full-Time, exempt position.  $50,000 annually.  Medical, dental, vision, and other insurances available.  Paid holidays, sick, and PTO.
