Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist (Contractor) to join our team and play a vital role in developing a Class II medical device for cardiovascular health. You will leverage your expertise in data analysis, modeling, and algorithm development to translate complex medical data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes and medical device functionality. Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling:
* Extract and analyze data from medical charts, clinical trials, and real-world evidence.
* Apply statistical methods to diverse sources of data, including patient records and device performance data.
* Develop predictive models to identify trends, patterns, and potential risk factors related to cardiology and medical devices.
* Tune models for performance metrics such as UROC, AUPRC, Sensitivity, and Specificity.
- Algorithm Development:
* Design and implement analytic algorithms to process and interpret medical data.
* Leverage machine learning techniques to discover impactful insights from high-dimensional, noisy data.
* Continuously improve and validate machine learning algorithms to ensure robust and reliable performance.
- Collaboration:
* Work closely with clinicians, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand medical needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science into medical device development processes.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
- Reporting and Visualization:
* Prepare clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
* Present data-driven insights to investigators, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
* Develop and maintain documentation for data analysis procedures and model development.
- Quality and Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) related to medical devices.
* Promote digital culture and capabilities across the organization.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, PyTorch, etc.) and data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, NumPy).
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and causal inference.
- Knowledge of cardiology, medical devices, and healthcare domain.
- Experience in developing and tuning models for performance metrics such as UROC, AUPRC, Sensitivity, and Specificity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
