    REQUIREMENTS:

    • NYS INITIAL OR PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION-SPECIAL ED, BIRTH-GRADE 2
    • MUST BE ENROLLED IN OR HAVE GRADUATED FROM A SPECIAL EDUCATION MASTER'S PROGRAM
    • MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO RICHMOND HIL, NY 11419 / HOWARD BEACH, NY 11414
    • CANNOT HAVE WORKED FOR THE DOE IN THE LAST YEAR

    Responsibilities:

    • Design & manage an appropriate learning environment
    • Prepare weekly lesson plans with IEP goals
    • Communicate with parents on an on-going basis
    • Encourage parent involvement in the classroom
    • Assess children's progress using an approved assessment tool
    • Conduct team meetings
    • Write progress reports & IEPs
    • Participate in CPSE & CSE meetings
    • Work collaboratively as a member of the team
