    Looking for a great training ground for teaching in a team oriented environment?

    HeartShare is on the lookout for amazing TAs. Our ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for educating youth ages 5-21 with developmental disabilities, with a strong desire to be a positive influence in the classroom.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • NYS TEACHER'S ASSISTANT (TA) CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able to commute to Bath Beach, Brooklyn
    • DUE TO CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS, YOU CANNOT HAVE WORKED FOR THE DOE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • PLEASE NOTE, THIS PROGRAM RUNS YEAR ROUND, 12 MONTHS A YEAR.
    • Assist classroom teacher in all aspects involving the daily care and instruction of students.
    • Meet buses and escort students to classroom as assigned.
    • Meet with teacher daily to discuss instrumental plans and ongoing student progress.
    • Attend child study conferences as appropriate.
    • Participate in staff development activities.
    • Participate in Team Meetings & Staff Development
    • Work cooperatively as a member of the HeartShare Team
    • Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences present in the agency's service population.
