    Mama's House is seeking part-time House Mothers. Mama’s House is a non-profit home providing shelter for women in crises pregnancies. The work schedule may require overnights.

    Title: House Mother

    The House Mother ensures that efficient routines are maintained throughout her shift. The ideal candidate is a mature Christian who loves the Lord and deeply desires to serve Him in this ministry. She possesses a servant’s heart, full of love, compassion and kindness as a role model for the residents.

    Hours:

    Shift examples are as follows:

    Weekend Shifts: 8:00am to 4:00pm (8 hour shift)

    Other shifts: 4:00pm -12:00am and overnight 12:00am-8:00am (total of 16 hours)

    Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

    Weekend includes to work alongside a 2nd staff member. Supervise residents to ensure they adhere to rules. Provide transportation in company van. Attend programs such as Celebrate Recovery and church service are some of the weekend activities (when available in person). Mama’s House is growing, and there is potential for more hours and advancement.

    Duties:

    Oversee the daily functioning of Mama’s House

    Lead devotion

    Provide transportation, must have experience with driving large van

    Take responsibility for the welfare and well-being of residents within the house and aim to provide a caring, safe and harmonious environment.

    Record written daily communication reports on each resident.

    Assume a role of maternal influence

    Be approachable and open

    Delegate with the residents to keep the house, rooms, and grounds clean at all times

    Assist resident with social correctness, etiquette and professional courtesies

    Respond to emergencies and call for medical assistance as needed.

    Implement policies and guidelines in the Resident Handbook

    Interface with and resolve conflict between residents

    Develop and encourage the residents to collectively be aware of the difficulties or challenges of others, and to be supportive of each other

    Teaching basic life skills which include but not limited to cooking, housekeeping and caring for baby

    Monitor schedules to ensure that extra-curricular activities are followed; e.g. Mom’s to Mom’s, Learn and Earn, GED, Healthy Eating and Nutritional Education

    Understand the importance of observation; keep in contact with all the residents and be the first to notice if they are homesick, have relationship problems, are disorganized, lack basic hygiene or if they are not their normal selves.

    Be fully familiarized with Mama’s House policies and procedures

    Complete other tasks as assigned by Management

    Skills and Abilities:

    Must be a good listener and non-judgmental

    Know how to prepare “healthy” foods to assist residents in the kitchen

    Must be capable of operating and willing to use computer, calculator, telephone, copier and cell phone to text

    Must speak, read and write English

    Must be physically sound as the position entails sitting, walking, and standing throughout the shift. May be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.

    Be comfortable and have knowledge to care for babies.

    Requirements:

    Mature Christian actively living out their faith

    Social Services experience

    Must have a valid Driver’s License and insurance

    Certifications for CPR and First Aid

    Computer Literate

    Drug Free

    Must submit to random drug testing.
