    Job Summary:

    This role entails the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment used for product production and packaging. Duties include regular equipment inspections, fulfilling maintenance requests, and adhering to company health and safety protocols related to essential job functions.

    Job Duties:

    • Efficiently and safely operate standard maintenance tools, including power tools, basic hand tools, and basic electrical testing equipment.
    • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on a daily to semi-annual basis.
    • Read and comprehend mechanical and electrical schematics.
    • Independently troubleshoot minor mechanical and electrical issues.
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area and equipment.
    • Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures, and contribute to the development of proper safety techniques.
    • Detect, document, report, and repair any machine malfunctions or faulty equipment.
    • Follow emergency procedures during power failures.
    • Acquire diverse maintenance skills to be prepared for assignments in various work areas and shifts as needed.
    • Understand and attain certification in the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program.
    • Effectively communicate daily pass-downs, issues, and actions through written communication.

    Required Competencies & Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
    • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
    • Understanding of PLCs and conveyor systems.

    Skill in:

    • Problem-solving using established methodologies.
    • Organization and time management.
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
    • HVAC and refrigerant systems.
    • Comprehending 3 Phase electrical and tree phase motor controls.
    • AC and DC control wiring.

    Ability to:

    • Operate and understand basic PLC functions.
    • Perform repairs on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
    • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with Hearthside Food Solutions staff.
    • Follow and issue instructions using established guidelines.
    • Exhibit exemplary behaviors focused on safety, quality, and adherence to policies.
    • Proficiently use the MS Office Suite and PM system tracking.

    Work Environment:

    • Maintain positive working relationships with employees across all departments.
    • Maintain positive working relationships with management at all levels.
    • Effectively communicate with all employees and management.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work primarily takes place on a manufacturing production floor.
    • Frequent exposure to production environment elements, including noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and temperature fluctuations.
    • Occasional sitting at a work station for short periods of time.
    • Regularly respond to line calls throughout the building.
    • Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Completion or pursuit of a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of experience in plant maintenance.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 18 years of age.
    • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingualism is advantageous.
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions from the Sanitation Manager and effectively communicate with line workers, Leads, Supervisors, and Plant Manager.

    You should possess proficiency in:

    • Reading blueprints.
    • Troubleshooting PLCs.
    • Understanding electrical schematics.
    • Troubleshooting electrical problems.
    • Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
    • Working with pneumatic systems.
    • Working with hydraulic systems.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

    Machines and technologies you will utilize:

    • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
    • Conveyor Systems.
