Job Overview:
The Maintenance Tech carries out a wide range of responsibilities, which include:
Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Repairing machines, equipment, and plant facilities, whether it's a planned, unplanned, or emergency repair
Performing routine preventive maintenance and keeping detailed records of the maintenance activities
Primary Responsibilities:
Conducting maintenance tasks in compliance with safety policies and procedures, as per individual skill level
Interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to complete required maintenance and service tasks
Diagnosing problems, replacing or fixing parts, conducting tests, and making necessary adjustments
Identifying and reporting any abnormal situations, faulty operations, or defective materials to the facility maintenance manager
Using Microsoft Office to order parts and schedule jobs
Performing work in a safe manner and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times
Completing other assigned duties as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion or ongoing pursuit of a 2-year trades degree and/or at least 4 years of experience in plant maintenance
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years old
Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Bilingual skills are advantageous
Able to effectively communicate with the Sanitation Manager, line workers, Leads, Supervisors, and Plant Manager, and follow their instructions
Keen attention to detail
Legible record-keeping and data-entry abilities
Highly motivated, flexible, and skilled in creative problem-solving
Able to multitask efficiently
Proficient in welding and fabrication, with comprehensive knowledge of 3 Phase electrical systems and tree-phase motor controls
Skilled in troubleshooting AC & DC drives
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various machines, noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures
Depending on the location, the environment can be either warm or refrigerated
Collaborative work environment, requiring effective communication and respectful behavior towards others
Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
May be required to work weekends and night shifts as needed
