    JOB DESCRIPTION

    As an outside-sales professional, the role is responsible for driving revenue growth and bringing in net new business from prospects. This role is to set appointments with business owners or Financial Institution (FI) Partners to sell Heartland’s payment processing solution(s) through various methods, including prospecting face-to-face and over the phone, as well as through FI networks by building referral partnerships. The position is compensated with one time

    commission, residuals and ownership. The compensation is highly leveraged with the opportunity for creating passive income while working flexible hours.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

     

    ● Prospect and close new merchant account sales consistently month after month.

    ● Practice the Heartland mantra of Entrepreneurs Respectfully Serving Entrepreneurs by listening and gauging

    the customer’s needs to offer appropriate solutions and products to elevate the customer’s business.

    ● Provide after-sales service as needed to ensure a successful transition to Heartland products and services.

    ● Market additional HPS products and services when introduced under company guidelines.

    ● Travel to and from client sites and/or visit Financial Institution partners weekly and report interaction to

    ensure appropriate level of service.

    ● Initiate contact with each customer a minimum of four times per year.

    ● Respond to all sales leads within the required response time and work to solidify and close the sale. Report

    the results on a regular basis as defined.

    ● Overcome customer objections, issues or concerns as necessary to solidify the merchant relationship as a part

    of the sale.

    ● Possess the ability to obtain a higher value from merchants based on the value-added benefits offered by the

    product/service.

    ● Assess customers’ needs and identify the product/service that best meets the customer’s need.

    ● Gain a full understanding of all hardware, software, and reporting offered by Heartland, and effectively

    communicate this information to prospects, clients and internal parties.

    ● Continually learn all aspects of all of the products and services offered by Heartland.

    ● Work with reporting manager to assist in developing bank, association, value-added reseller, accounting and

    vertical market channels targeted by Heartland.

    ● Provide all required documentation to manager.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE INCLUDE:

     

    Previous Top Performer status in an outside sales position

    Proven track record of pipeline development and closing sales

    Ability to pass a background check

    Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

    Computer literacy

    Performance based sales background including B2B services, short-cycle sales, outside sales, cold-calling, selling solutions and/or selling to restaurants, retail stores and hospitality businesses preferred

    Membership in a business or merchant association or a networking group a plus

    Bilingual skills a plus

     

     

    COMPENSATION - PROFIT-SHARE/MONTHLY RESIDUALS/EARNED EQUITY/WEEKLY PAY/BENEFITS

     

    This is a W2, full benefits position working primarily from a home office with a majority of time spent in the field. First year relationship managers can expect average earnings of $65,000 - $95,000+ in the form of profit share and earned equity. Typically Income incrases on an annual basis from 10% -25% YOY, Top performers are in the $200,000+ range. Compensation includes up front true profit share on every account, paid each Friday, monthly profit share on entire portfolio in the form of, residual income that pays starting the first month, and portfolio equity once vested. Once our Relationship/Territory Managers hit a designated sales production requirement they are what we call "vested" and now "own" the monthly residual. This means the sales manager is paid the monthly residuals as long as their clients are processing with Heartland, whether or not the sales manager is still employed with Heartland. In addition, they have the option to cash out some or all of their monthly residual for 30 times its value as a portfolio buyout (i.e. $2,000 in monthly residuals can be sold back to the company for a $60,000 equity buyout).
