    Job Description

     

    SUMMARY:

    Sales Support is responsible for supporting and coordinating the sales process by preparing bids for projects and, special quotes (when standard pricing is not sufficient).

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with assigned Territory Managers and Sales Center Managers by providing special bid/RFQ quotes, price sheets, CARs (Competitive Activity Reports), special quantity orders, and assisting with various marketing and promotional campaigns.
    • Interface with vendors and apply industry knowledge to prepare and submit special bids for project work or RFQs.
    • Knowledge of the special items on the monthly special sheet or other specials in process with customers, in addition to non Stock orders.
    • Attend all special meetings required for training, product familiarization, safety, and employee relations.
    • Assist Territory Managers and sales center employees with product information, availability details, price sheets, and other projects as needed.
    • Keep up to date on competitor's pricing via updates from outside sources.
    • Work with all departments at Corporate (Credit, Purchasing, Product Manager, etc.) to update customer account status and sales opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Extensive Product knowledge of all brands; minimum 3 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
    • Analytical and strategic skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of the purchase order and purchase request system (SOR) for tracking incoming merchandise and special orders.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
    • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in reading and evaluating HVAC and Plumbing schedule a plus
    • Experience doing plan take-offs a plus
