What the Role Is

The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance of the property. The successful candidate will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks, including plumbing, electrical, structural and equipment repair or replacement.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Performs preventative building maintenance duties
• Performs routine electrical repairs
• Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets and water fountain maintenance
• Transporting supplies, equipment, and materials (up to 100 lbs.) to designated area
• Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects, ensuring that supply rooms are properly stocked
• Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures; moves and sets up event spaces
• Painting interior walls, fixtures, etc.
• Cleans and supplies all visitor center areas, including dusting, mopping and cleaning ceiling vents, fans, and fixtures
• Performs and documents routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Completes heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Beautification of exterior grounds
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Other duties as assigned

Who You Are…

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) year's facility maintenance experience with an emphasis in the tourism industry
• Strong organizational, analytical, self-management and goal-setting skills
• Energetic team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to talk to others to convey information effectively
• Service Orientation – actively looking for ways to help people
• Ability to handle deadlines and constantly changing priorities
• Focus on continuous improvement within all areas of the job and the drive to make things better
• Basic knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and inventory management software
• Ability to work in a team and be a self-starter
• Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a box truck

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

• Associate degree in maintenance or related field
• Familiarity with bourbon knowledge and language
• Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of the job, the employee is required to perform physical activities that require frequent and considerable use of arms and legs, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 60 pounds; assists with loading full bourbon barrels weighing up to 500 lbs.
