This is a paid internship that is part of Heaven Hill's Summer Internship Program (running May-August). The role is based at our Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY.

As part of the Heaven Hill Summer Internship Program, you will directly support the organizations strategic goals through project work and business-critical assignments. What the Role Is

As a Quality Control Intern, you will join the Bernheim Distillery in Louisville to support our Quality Control program. You will see all aspects of quality control throughout the distillery operation, from grain receipt through barrel fill and maturation. You will take part in production monitoring, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll record & report on laboratory data to continue driving a culture of quality that is required to produce consistent distillate.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Compile and trend fermentation HPLC data
• Develop and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & other related documents
• Conduct daily lab instrument calibrations
• Test and monitor the water systems onsite
• Gain exposure to various departments outside of distillery production, such as safety, environmental, and community relations

Who You Are…

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science Field including Biology, Chemistry & Food Science or related field of study
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Ability to multitask, time manage and prioritize
• Naturally curious and self-starter attitude
• Analytical, organized, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
• Ability to work in person in an industrial setting in Louisville, KY

Physical Requirements

While performing duties of job, employee is frequently required to stand; extensive walking; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Will be required to climb stairs and may be required to climb ladders. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
