Position Title: Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent - Water/Wastewater
Position Summary
Lean Synergy Solutions is seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent - Water/Wastewater to oversee field construction activities on water and wastewater treatment plant, pump station, and related heavy civil projects in the Cookeville, TN area. This role is designed for a proven field leader with hands-on water/wastewater project experience, strong subcontractor coordination skills, and the ability to drive safety, quality, schedules, labor productivity, and project execution from the field. The ideal candidate can lead projects in the $5M to $30M range, manage crews and multiple subcontractors, review plans and specifications, and keep construction moving from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities on water and wastewater treatment plant, pump station, and heavy civil construction projects.
- Work closely with project managers to keep projects aligned with budget, schedule, production goals, safety expectations, and quality standards.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and site logistics to support efficient project execution.
- Review project plans, specifications, submittals, drawings, and site conditions to identify obstacles and help develop practical solutions.
- Maintain required documentation including time sheets, daily reports, equipment reports, toolbox talks, three-week look-ahead plans, and field progress updates.
- Collaborate professionally with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead field teams with a focus on communication, accountability, safety, quality workmanship, and overall project success.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of superintendent experience in water/wastewater or heavy civil construction environments.
- Experience overseeing WTP/WWTP projects, pump stations, heavy concrete structures, and/or related civil construction work is required.
- Candidates must be able to read and understand plans, specifications, submittals, schedules, and field documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are required, with the ability to manage crews of 10-20 employees and multiple subcontractors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard field reporting/documentation tools is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-perform concrete experience, especially heavy concrete forming for tanks, structures, and treatment plant work, is highly preferred.
- Experience leading projects valued between $5M and $30M is strongly preferred.
- Background coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors on public infrastructure or utility construction projects is a plus.
- Candidates with a strong safety mindset, proven production planning ability, and a track record of promoting project team accountability are preferred.
Location
Cookeville, TN area. This role may involve travel to active project sites as needed.
