We specialize in project management, engineering, construction management, cost estimating, scheduling, QA/QC, project controls, and change management across a wide range of sectors, including transportation, infrastructure, water/wastewater, aviation, education, healthcare, and public facilities.

    Dabri, Inc. is seeking a skilled, motivated, and locally experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to support our team on an on-call basis. This is a remote-based position , but in-person attendance at meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area will be required as needed. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy civil construction estimating and should be confident working across multiple disciplines including civil, mechanical, and electrical.

    Job Description

    • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for heavy civil infrastructure projects.
    • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and complete cost estimates for bidding or budgeting purposes.
    • Develop construction cost control tools including labor, material, and equipment pricing breakdowns.
    • Participate in cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other estimators to support the development of competitive bids and budgets.
    • Attend and actively contribute to in-person meetings with clients and stakeholders in the Bay Area.
    • Communicate cost assumptions and estimate breakdowns effectively to internal teams and clients, both verbally and through clear presentations.
    • Mentor and train junior estimators , providing oversight and guidance to build team capabilities.
    • Maintain current knowledge of market pricing trends, labor rates, and material costs across disciplines.
    • Support preparation of change order estimates and review of contractor pricing.
    • Ensure all work complies with company procedures, safety standards, and client requirements.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of local (CA) experience in heavy civil estimating ; experience across civil, underground utility, pump stations, dams, structure concrete, mechanical, and electrical scopes is strongly preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering.
    • Proficiency in quantity take-off software (such as Bluebeam) and estimating platforms.
    • Strong understanding and experience of public works and infrastructure construction , particularly within California.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills —ability to explain complex estimate components to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
    • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work on time.
