    Heavy Equipment Attachment Specialist

    Position Summary

    The Heavy Equipment Attachment Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized attachments used in construction and demolition operations. This role focuses on maximizing performance and uptime of attachments such as grapples, shears, hammers, and processors. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and can work both in the shop and in the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, remove, and configure attachments on various heavy equipment
    • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues related to attachments
    • Maintain and service attachments including greasing, seal replacement, and wear part changes
    • Troubleshoot hydraulic flow, pressure, and connection issues between machines and attachments
    • Inspect attachments for wear, damage, and safety compliance
    • Perform hose routing, fitting replacements, and minor fabrication as needed
    • Assist operators with proper usage and best practices to extend attachment life
    • Maintain inventory of parts, hoses, fittings, and wear components
    • Complete service reports, inspection logs, and documentation
    • Respond to field service calls to minimize downtime

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience working with heavy equipment or attachments (demolition experience preferred)
    • Strong understanding of hydraulics, including flow and pressure systems
    • Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
    • Experience with hose building, fittings, and hydraulic connections
    • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
    • Ability to read schematics and service manuals preferred
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Combination of shop work and field service at job sites
    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work around heavy machinery
    • Exposure to outdoor weather, dust, noise, and grease
    • Must be comfortable climbing on equipment and working in tight spaces
