Position Summary
You will maintain and repair our fleet of trenchers and heavy equipment, ensuring peak performance on job sites across the country. Your expertise will directly contribute to efficient operations and our mission of building reliable, sustainable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, including PLC Rivard trenchers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, and ancillary tools.
Operate machinery to diagnose defects, troubleshoot issues, and verify repairs.
Weld, fabricate, and hard-face wear components on trenchers to extend equipment life.
Conduct thorough inspections of all company equipment and submit detailed inspection forms.
Order parts, complete requisition forms accurately, and manage inventory to minimize downtime.
Assist supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates with mechanical tasks, providing training and guidance as needed.
Communicate maintenance concerns effectively with crew leaders and team members.
Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and participate in daily safety meetings.
Maintain a clean, orderly work area and equipment to support efficient operations.
Complete assigned tasks within project timelines while maintaining quality standards.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2-5 years of related mechanical experience in heavy equipment.
Willingness to travel 100% and relocate to job sites nationwide.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds, perform manual labor, handle frequent bending and lifting, and work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent collaboration abilities.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings and background checks.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2-year post-secondary mechanical program.
Comprehensive knowledge of equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, emissions systems, and diesel/gasoline engines.
Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification.
Hands-on experience in construction or underground utility projects.
Experience with construction hand tools and power equipment.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 7 AM-5 PM, with overtime during peaks and flexibility for family needs.

Physical demands: Lifting, standing, bending, walking, pushing, reaching, fine dexterity, and operating machinery for extended periods; accommodations for disabilities.
Project rotations: 4-6 months with optional 1-week breaks every 4 weeks; year-round stability.
