We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support daily mining operations by maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy mobile equipment. This role is critical to keeping production running by minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
The mechanic will primarily work on large mining equipment including but not limited too - CAT 777 haul trucks, CAT 993K/992 loaders, DM45 Drills, and CAT D9 dozers in both field and shop environments.
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on mining equipment including but not limited too:
CAT 777 Haul Trucks
CAT 993K & CAT 992 Loaders
CAT D9 Dozers
DM 45 Drills
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures in a fast-paced production environment
Respond to field breakdowns and perform on-site repairs to reduce downtime
Complete scheduled maintenance services (PMs), inspections, and component replacements
Work with maintenance planners and operations teams to prioritize repairs based on production needs
Utilize diagnostic software (CAT ET preferred) and service manuals to identify issues
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports
Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with MSHA regulations and site safety standards
Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and audits
3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or mining equipment mechanic
Strong experience working on large CAT mining equipment (777 haul trucks, 992/993 loaders, D9 dozers preferred)
Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components
Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment in a mining or high-production environment
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Experience with CAT ET or similar diagnostic tools preferred
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred)
Work performed in an active mine site (surface mining operation)
Combination of shop work and field service in varying weather conditions
Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment traffic
Schedule:
7 day on 7 day off
12 hours

Frequent bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in physically demanding conditions
