Responsibilities:
Be punctual and dependable

Assist in field maintenance on machinery

DUTIES:
Must be proficient with operating hydraulic excavators in trenching and pipe installation applications.
Must be able to safely excavate trench to OSHA standards
Must be able to dig trench on grade for site lighting conduit, precast pole bases, manholes, handholes, primary power conduit, phone conduit, etc.
Muse be proficient in rigging and lifting for laying pipe, and setting precast pole bases, manholes and drainage structures
Must understand basic backfilling and compaction principles
Must understand the fundamentals of excavator operation in trenching and pipe laying applications
Must be able to perform daily machine inspections and report any faults
Must be willing to clean cabs, clean tracks, and grease machine after every shift
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Must have reliable transportation
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Ability to effectively communicate with crew members
Position requires the ability to sit 50% of the time and walk or stand 50% of the time. Physical demands may include balancing, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, carrying, lifting at least 75 pounds. Working conditions are outside and wet, dirty, hot/humid, dusty, cold, noisy with hazards. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to speak English and communicate effectively with other crew members and supervisors.
