DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and motor graders.
• Perform tasks including excavation, backfilling, grading, and material transportation.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Follow project plans and specifications to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management.
• Assist with related special projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years verifiable experience operating heavy equipment in commercial earthwork applications.
• Ability to read and interpret grade stakes and project plans.
• Strong understanding of job site safety practices.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from various job sites.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
• Sit for extended periods while operating machinery.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently kneel, bend, squat, and climb.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Use hands and feet to operate controls.
• Navigate uneven terrain and construction sites.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including boots, hard hat, vest, gloves, eye and hearing protection.
• Work up to 12-hour shifts in physically demanding conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Outdoor construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to loud noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
• Fast-paced and physically demanding job setting.
