Job Description

Operate a material handler equipped an electro magnet, grapple, and/or bucket.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for scrap inspection as it is being loaded.
• Inspects the material handler for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
• Operates mobile equipment as needed.
• Communicates and directs co-workers through two-way radio and hand signals.
• Assist maintenance with cleaning on down days.
• occasionally work overtime and weekends as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent degree
• 1 year experience operating a hydraulic excavator or similar equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures
• Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.
• Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
