About the Role
While servicing a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the Print Production Operator (PPO) shall maintain and operate high volume digital printing equipment, bindery equipment, large format printers and other reproduction equipment. The PPO shall operate a laptop and/or desktop computer for the scanning, conversion, and indexing of legacy hardcopy documents.
Work will be performed onsite at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8.5 hours per day, including one 30-minute meal break. Start times vary, but not before 6:00 AM and no later than 8:00 AM, excluding Federal holidays. Some overtime may be required.

No security clearance is required, but candidates must pass appropriate background checks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital Print Production – Follow production workflow to produce work using high end digital printer/copier equipment. Operate a variety of finishing equipment. Prepare various file formats and convert to PDF print-ready status. Ensure that all work produced is in accordance with the job ticket. Run orders on time, maximize productivity. Properly use and care for equipment in compliance with operating instructions and schedule equipment maintenance. Follow policies and procedures including safety precautions and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Digitizing Paper Document – Perform document preparation, involving the removing of staples, clips, bindings, fixes dog-eared pages. Scan various size pages at a resolution of 300 DPI or greater using various profile settings established for specific document types (photos, half tones, b/w, color, etc.). Perform optical character recognition (OCR) processing as required on scanned images. Perform indexing of electronic documents as required to include all required metadata.
Customer Service – Perform customer service related to responding to routine questions via telephone, written correspondence, or in person. Perform administrative taskings related to inputting data to spreadsheets, e-mail correspondence, and production reporting as needed. Follow all established safety/security procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
