    Service Apprentice, Central Region (2530) Service Apprentice, Central Region (2530) Schaumburg, Illinois, United States · Tech Support · 2530 Description JOB SUMMARY Entry level press technician position. Basic mechanical / electrical apptitude advantageous for position. Mechanical / electrical knowledge does not need to be limited to printing equipment. Must be willing to travel extensively. Basic computer skills are important. 3 year program. Successful completion would result in a functional field service representative. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES Building upon mechanical and electrical knowledge. Responsible for grasping the concepts and theories related to mechanical/electrical processes which are taught in the apprenticeship program. Working with Field Service Personnel. Assistant to journey workers during the performance service on Heidelberg equipment, both in the field and in Heidelberg facilities. Work with the installation and maintenance team to install and maintain demo room equipment. Learn customer service skills. Reporting - Must be able to grasp reporting procedures related to time keeping, and activity reporting. Must be able to make travel arrangements when needed. Regular attendance and timeliness is expected. There may be times that overtime or weekend work will be critical functions of the job. Overtime, if applicable, must be approved in advance. Other duties are assigned as needed by the jobholders supervisor.
